Why we love cooking with grass-fed ghee
Why do we love cooking with grass-fed ghee?!
Ghee has been around for centuries, originating in India and is a staple in Indian cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine.
Ghee is essentially clarified butter and has a nuttier and more intense flavour.
Here are some of the reasons you should consider cooking with it instead of using traditional vegetable oils!
It's a VERY stable oil with a high smoke point, unlike many other oils. This is important because once oil is smoking it generates toxic compounds.
It contains the bioavailable fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K2.
Grass-fed ghee contains Conjugated Linoleic Acid or, CLA which can defend against certain cancers, heart disease, asthma and osteoporosis.
As the dairy solids, lactose and casein have been removed, many find it much more tolerable to their system if they're usually sensitive to dairy products.
It lasts for ages at room temperature.
It's a GOOD source of cholesterol.
It's absolutely delicious!
